Welcome to our little piece of paradise!

The sun-kissed island of Captiva is the perfect tropical setting for a luxurious getaway.  

Our vacation house, Captiva Retreat (located at 47 Sunset Captiva), is a 2,200 square foot, detached, free-standing home with three private bedrooms (two queens and bunk beds), private den with queen-size wall bed, loft with single bed, and three full bathrooms. It comfortably accommodates 8 guests.


With floor-to-ceiling windows and sliders on three sides, the living room and dining area are light and airy, perfect for a tropical vacation. The ceiling fans and high-output air conditioning keep it comfortable; there is also heat for the occasional cool evening.


We invite you to make our rental house your vacation home. Serve meals to a party of eight at the dining table. Stretch out on the L-shaped sofas with a good book, or watch cable flat-screen HDTV or DVD/VCR. Although if you can't get by without checking your e-mail, we have high-speed Internet access with WiFi. And since WiFi can be spotty at times, feel free to also bring your Ethernet Cable to connect in with.

The spectacular wrap-around screened porch is the signature feature of this home. You'll spend a lot of time out here, relaxing on comfortable sofas and chairs, or sitting at the large table where you'll probably serve a lot of your meals. The natural breezes flow freely from two sides, but if they take a day off, there are three ceiling fans.

While we don't allow smoking inside the house, you're free to indulge yourself here on the porch. Complimentary beach chairs and kids' beach toys are in the cabinet in the corner of the porch. Beach towels are in the linen closet.

 Although there are eight restaurants within walking distance (check out Things To Do), you're welcome to enjoy the convenience and comfort of some cooking in our newly-renovated kitchen. From the new counters to new cabinets and most of the appliances, you'll find absolutely everything you'll need for a home-cooked meal. Cookware, utensils, dishes, glassware and tableware -- all available for your personal use. And while cherished and well-kept as a beach house, the furniture is a couple of years old. We can't promise that all of the dishes match, or that there will be chocolates on your pillow each night. But we can promise that our house is exactly where you'll find yourself wanting to stay time and time again.

 With access from the kitchen and the porch, the den is another living area and cable TV/DVD/VCR room -- a perfect spot where the kids can watch their videos while the adults gather in the living room or relax on the porch. In the evening, if you need the third bedroom, close the sliders and the blinds and open up the queen-sized (Murphy bed) wall bed. Although not directly adjacent, there's a full bathroom nearby as well as a utility room with washer and dryer, ironing board and iron.

Our gorgeously appointed, spacious master suite offers a queen-size bed, ceiling fan, cable TV, ample dresser and closet space, and a full private bathroom with tub/shower. We encourage you to take full advantage of your own private suite by walking out onto the sun deck which offers a private sunning location. Sit. Relax. Enjoy.

We supply all linens and towels (including beach towels) and provide extra blankets and pillows for those who may need them.

The other bedroom features a queen-sized bed, plus a set of bunk beds, ceiling fan, ample closet space and another full, private bathroom with tub/shower.
 

In the loft area between the two upstairs bedrooms is a nook with a single bed perfect for an extra bedroom or even a quite afternoon nap.
