Directions

Most people flying in will choose Fort Myers Airport (RSW), about a 1 hour’s drive to Captiva. However, if your preferred airline or flying times don’t work at RSW, consider Tampa (TPA) or Miami (MIA), about a 3 hour’s drive, or Orlando (MCO), about 4 hours.

From Fort Myers Airport to Sunset Captiva (Drive Time: around 60 minutes)From the airport access road, turn right at the light, follow to a left turn at the light onto Daniels Pkwy; go 3.0 miles on Daniels, passing under I-75 along the way; turn left on Six Mile Cyprus Pkwy, which becomes Gladiolus, for 4.4 miles; turn left on Summerlin. (To stop for groceries at Publix, look for the traffic light at John Morris Road, go left, and then immediately go right on the frontage road) After total of 8.0 miles on Summerlin, you will come to Sanibel Causeway, use right hand lanes, toll is $6.00.
 

After the Causeway, go 0.4 miles and turn right at Periwinkle Way. After 1.0 mile, pick up the resort keys and welcome packet at Royal Shell Vacations (1547 Periwinkle on left-hand side, 800-656-9111). Please note that if you plan to arrive after 5:00 p.m. or on a Sunday, there are special procedures for a late check-in. Contact us for further instructions. 

Leaving Royal Shell, continue on Periwinkle for 1.8 miles to end; turn right on Tarpon Bay Road for 0.5 miles; go left on Sanibel-Captiva Road for 7.0 miles; cross small bridge onto Captiva; go 3.0 miles on Captiva Drive; after you see Green Flash restaurant, go 0.2 mile; turn left into Sunset Captiva; take second right on Oster Court; Captiva Retreat (#47) is the fourth house on the left.
