GOLF

Until you've golfed on the beautiful courses in Florida, you're probably not fully aware of just how much you've been missing out on.

Golf courses in the area are not only breathtakingly beautiful, they also offer a sense of calm that blows across you as gently as the ocean air.

There are plenty of golf options in the Captiva-Sanibel-Fort Myers area, with varying degrees of cost and difficulty.

While Captiva doesn't currently provide public course options, there is a 9-hole course at South Seas which is restricted to their guests.

Sanibel offers The Sanctuary, a distinguished private club, accessible when you have a member as your host. Also on Sanibel are two additional public courses, Sanibel Island Golf Club and The Dunes. In the high season, we do encourage that you call ahead with weeks to spare to set up your tee time, but in the off-season times a few days seems to be sufficient.

Off island, you have hundreds of choices for golfing as well. There are two great sources of information for the availability of off-island courses: golfsouthwestflorida.com or funandsun.com

Drive times vary depending on location and seasonal traffic.

Also, it’s a good idea to check the websites and call ahead before your arrival since courses change their public access policies frequently.
